The Temple of Horus in Edfu is the second largest temple in ancient Egypt, after the Karnak Temple, and represents one of the last attempts of the Ptolemies to build temples along the lines of their predecessors form and luxury, when Edfu temple was built in the Ptolemaic era of the god Horus in 237 BC .It began with the establishment of Ptolemy the Third (Yorjits I) in (237 BC) to worship God Horus and Yorgetus “meaning the philanthropist”. Its construction was completed during the reign of “Ptolemy XIII” in the first century BC. It will be considered one of the most important and most beautiful Egyptian temples.
