Monastery of Saint Pachomius:
The monastery dates back to the fourth century AD .. It is one of the main monasteries built by St. Anba Pachomius ” father of the company ”
The monastery represents an important Bakhoumi era, and history states that the Bakhoumi monasteries had as many as 2,000 monks. The monastery dates back to the 4th century AD.
The breath of St. Anba Pachomius is clearly extended in the folds of the monastery and its leaves
The monastery consists of an archaeological church surrounded by a fence that collects the garden
The church consists of six structures in one half and a cross in front of the temple separated from the courtyard with a wall with small doors and inside the walls there are some stones decorated with crosses and ancient writings

The monastery is located behind the city of Habo in the Western desert and about 1 km west of them and up between them Paved beater for the movement of all vehicles.
Inside the walls of the church there are some Pharaonic stones taken from the many Pharaonic temples located in the west bank of Luxor.
There is also a special cemetery in front of the church for the priests who served the monastery
The most famous of them is St. Matthew Basile (departed on 3/4/1968). It also includes the ark of the archaeologist Bahour Labib Habashi, who was buried in this cemetery upon his will. This monastery serves the surrounding villages in addition to being inhabited by a few nuns.
