It was originally burials or Doma. When the blessings, intercessions and miracles of the saint appeared, the bishop Anba Pham interested in the area and became a monastery known for its great ecclesiastical activities.
The saint was born in the family of the monk in Kom Ghraib lived the life of communion in all its forms and meanings

After that we will move to the monastery of Saint Anba Shenouda in the Eastern Mountain.
The monastery is located north of the village of Arab Bani Wasel one kilometer and is 4 km north of St. Thomas Monastery and 20 km north of Akhmim . The church dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries is of the same style as the churches of Akhmim, which consists of three circular text structures, two lateral chambers and a corridor behind the structures called the Curl.
Complete your tour by visiting the Monastery of Martyrs Kyprianus and Justina
The monastery church with archaeological domes probably dates back to the 18th century
As the few existing icons show, the monastery is archaeological

Finally we will go to visit the Monastery of the Angel in the east of Gerga
The monastery is located on the eastern road of Akhmim . The church of the monastery resembles the churches of Akhmim because there are three temples and two side chambers.
It is likely, according to many historians, that this monastery is the monastery of the benigns where the martyrdom of St. Febronia, a martyr of chastity and purity, was killed when the monastery was attacked. It was mentioned in the early 16th century that it was one of the largest and most beautiful monasteries in Egypt and had at that time 100 monks .The monastery also has extraordinary prestige
